Neer updates
Hello!!Friends and Family!!It has been a long time since I've posted once again!!I promise to do better but it seems like the only time for it is at around 11p like tonight. And, I'm still having trouble posting pictures.Amber, or,Tricia, can you be bribed w/some chocolate mousse and some free Clinique skincare samples,to come over and
help me figure this out?Anyways, I have lots to tell about the goings on in the Neer house!!Hopefully,I can post my pictures successfully, too!!
Owen-What a sweet boy!!He is cutting 4 teeth on the top at the same time!!I feel very badly for him but am feeling good to know that he does have teeth!!I was beginning to wonder?Anyhow, I took him to the doctor to be checked out on Fri b/c he has had this lingering respitory infection for weeks that finally moved to his chest w/ a horrible croupy sounding cough!!I had taken him a few times before this to be checked out but just told to wade it out.He couldn't see his regular pediatrician and was seen by the head honcho Dr Blum. So,Dr Blum took one look at his 4 budding teeth, and said,"Oh,well, here's where all his problems stem from,.....Would you like me to help him out and pull his teeth down for you?I say,"Sure?!!(thinking he's just being humorous)"Ok",he says."Hold him down"and as quick as lightning he pulls out a tongue depressor and starts running it across his top gum line like a saw.Of course, Owen is screaming bloody murder and I'm just about to tell the Dr to stop when he stops ,picks him up and hands him back to me giving me instructions and says"I think he likes me"I, course, think he's being humorous again but I have misread him many times before.Needless to say,Owen's respiratory symptoms have cleared almost completely. The Dr says that when babies are just starting to cut teeth they can develop some pretty bad congestion which in turn can develop into bad respiratory infections as the sinus passages are interconnected.Parting words from Dr were"Massage, massage and massage those gum lines vigorously!!"We have been pretty good about massaging his gums w/ some Orajel as well as using all our other arsenal such as Tylenol,Popsicles(he really like those portable yogurts frozen).Me,too!!Yummy!!
Owen is 10 mos old now.Wow!!Unbelievable!!He has the brightest bluest eyes ever!!He's so mellow!!He's such a different temparent than Avery. He doesn't like to play w/ any of his toys. He's more interested in the vacuum cleaner, stereo and computer wires and, basically all electronics!!Typical boy,I guess!!He studies things like, well mainly the vacuum cleaner, for long periods of time.Avery was easily distracted and moved from one thing to the next every few minutes.I think that he will be a very patient quiet type.He loves, loves, loves the vacuum cleaner. He will sit and talk to it,pet it,scream at it,etc. It really is his best friend!!I think we're going to buy him a miniature one.Owen is still crawling everywhere but not really attempting to stand for very long by himself or take steps.Which, by the way, is fine w/ me!He's kind of a daredevil, too!!He will try to dive off the changing table, bed, etc.I guess he hasn't developed that depth perception yet. But, Avery,at his age,was very cautious about everything and still is.It's so amusing to note the differences.
Avery Joy just turned 5 on June 17th and had a wonderful b-day at Wonderscope,a children's museum. She celebrated w/ 13 of her little friends.Wonderscope has 8 different themed rooms that teach kids about things such as Science, Art and gardening.Avery loved the garden room. She has become quite the horticulturist. They made Father's Day ties at the end of the party. All of her gymnastics friends were there as well as some school friends too.Grandmas and grandpas were there, too. The highlight of her b-.day was getting her new 2 wheel bike w/ trainer wheels.Avery is still loving her gymnastics as well as some other interests that she has taken up teaching herself such as ballet, playing the harmonica and fashion design. We are looking into enrolling Avery into Robinson elementart public school here in Raytown. This school comes w/ high marks.I will be sad but she's sooo excited about the idea.We have many things planned this summer and will try to do them all.We have planned to make many trips to the library as Avery would like to learn to read befor school,go to Supersplash(waterpark),Worlds of Fun(compliments of Harley Davidson),go the zoo and many others. We are also trying to plan some low budget getaway for our family this summer but we'll see what happens.
Evan is in his 5th year w/ Harley Davidson Motor Company and trying his hand at some real estate as he recently became an agent and is working w/ his dad and stepmom under their very own real estate company called Welcome Home Realty.Evan has gotten many compliments on the sign.He has his first listing and just today got 2 promising calls.Very Exciting!!He has had it listed for almost a month now.He has many leads that look promising, too. So, we are anxious to see what the future holds w/ Welcome Home Realty.
I am enjoying this summer so far as I've been anble to spend a lot more time lately w/ the kids and have been getting creative w/ making up the extra income as I was working almost full time hours before Owen was born.I love being in my home and spending ime w/ my kids!!It's the best and look forward to being able to do it completely for awhile soon. But, I have been moonlighting as a nurse still but more sporadic than usual.Well, it looks like I'm going to have to pick up on this more tomorrow as it is 1am!!Talk to you soon!!
